Captivating oasis of calm

We were on our way to spend the day at a traditional village in the hills of North Bali with about 40 -50 of the rally participants. 

 

Maybe the cow provides the milk for milk chocolate?

All of us were eagerly anticipating being guests at this village (Umajero) as it was the first time they had played host to a group of tourists.

What was less eagerly anticipated perhaps, were the stops on the way – a visit to a farm growing cacao beans for chocolate, a chocolate factory, and the “Chinese Temple” in Banjartehehe. 
  

Steps to Nirvana

 However, the wonderful Buddhist Temple was an absolute highlight of the day.

It was an oasis of calm and beauty, and we were thoroughly captivated by this beautiful haven- so much so that I have devoted this blog to some of the photos I took there:
